The Role
This internship was very insightful and gave me a great idea of working in PwC. I had the chance to meet and network with a lot of like-minded people and chatted to a lot of professionals from a range of backgrounds and divisions to learn about opportunities within PwC and how to go about getting them.
I was very fortunate that the team I was placed into provided me with many opportunities to get stuck into the work they were doing and to really experience their jobs. They were very welcoming and always ensured that I was working on tasks that I found interesting and gave me the chance to pick what projects I would find the most interesting to work on.
My people manager was always on hand to help me if I had any questions. She worked on my team and hence sat on the table next to me so was very accessible. Again, she allowed me to dictate what things I would like to work on and regularly checked in to ensure I was happy with what I was learning.
I constantly had tasks at hand and was working on things that made a difference to the overall project and helped the team out. Any time I had my work finished there were always people around that would be happy to chat to me about what they were working on or give me tasks to help them.
I was given a lot of responsibility and could see how my tasks related to the overall project and why they were important for the team. I was invited to numerous meetings, both within the firm and outside and so had the chance to experience the technology community both within PwC and externally.
I have definitely developed my business acumen and idea of how products are created and brought to market. I will be able to take my team working skills back to uni and know how to effectively work with others to reach a shared goal to the highest standard. I also have a much better idea of emerging technology and how they can shape the world.
The Company
The atmosphere was very friendly and warm in my office. Everyone was polite to each other and always greeted you with a smile. On Fridays it was particularly good when everyone returned to the office after working on client site during the week. Overall, it was very positive and everyone was happy to answer any questions I had.
Initially we had training in London for two days during which the hotel and flights or transport were all paid for. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were also covered by PwC. This was a great atmosphere to learn in with all interns together. They also had regional training for a few days which was good to get an idea of the office you're working in.

Overall, I had a very positive experience and so employment in the future sounds very appealing. I could see myself working with everyone I met in the future, they were very helpful and hardworking but also laid back and easy to chat to. I really enjoyed my time at PwC and would recommend the experience.
The Culture
During the training in London there were plenty of opportunities to chat to other interns. There was a casual dinner the first night and a formal one the next during which I met a lot of interns and made many connections. Furthermore, I met regularly with other interns in my office for lunch and food or drinks after work.
I had the opportunity to attend meetings of external organisations encouraging technology in the community and see the impact they were having. I also heard from people who were involved with charity work and organising it for others within the firm. It was great to see the positive impact PwC has on the wider community as well.
