The Role
I have enjoyed the internship to a large extend, from different aspect such as projects, colleagues, other interns, facilities and so on. In general everything is great and I really liked the programme. Also, if there is any chance, I definitely would recommend it to my friends and classmates, without any worries.
I feel that I am very much valued by my colleagues. I was given real project which could make a big impact in the team in real production environment. Also, I enjoy working with the colleagues because everyone is friendly and helpful. Lastly, I feel that my hard work was recognised by my colleagues, line manager and performance manager.
I feel that I have received just enough support and guidance from manager/colleagues. I think it is not a good thing for interns to ask every questions without thinking about solutions themselves first. Also, it will be terrible if interns do not get any support. I feel that the support here is just right where we can have time to think about questions and finally get help if we really get stuck.
In general, my daily schedule starts at 930 and ends at around 630 to 7. This is average based on my knowledge of the banking and technology industry. Comparing to small firms, I think I am less busy because I always have time to have coffee or a chat with others. The work time is quite flexible.
I was given the right responsibility for interns. I have my own individual project, where I need to study and apply knowledge. Also, I was assigned a manager and a buddy, who can help me with technical problems. However, they will not directly perform work for me. I am also responsible of reporting my progress to managers.
I feel that I have received a lot of trainings, which include industry knowledge, business knowledge, technical knowledge which will benefit me from very different aspects. The technical knowledge primarily prepares me for the further studies as I am more familiar with technology. Industry knowledge would help me more with career choice and development.
The Company
I find the general atmosphere in my office excellent. Our team size is just nice where we know each other very well and can talk to each other. Also, everyone is very helpful and friendly, so as interns we are able to get help whenever we need. Besides, everyone have professional talents and works well together as a whole team.
In general the internship programme was organised very well. HR provides a lot of support from the very beginning of our interview, to offers, to travel reimbursement. Then after we joined the firm officially, we get talks from higher management to understand the firm. The firm also provides many networking event and mentoring.
I think the firm has invested largely in myself. The firm provides a lot of online courses, from finance to technology, covering every basic aspect of our daily job. Also, the firm hold networking events and mentoring session for the interns to network and grow with the firm together. Lastly, the firm provide very good facilities such as sports area, coffee machine etc.

The future employment prospects should be very good within the organisation. Every year the firm recruit a lot of people from the intern class. This is because the firm has invested a lot in the interns. Also, the interview process for interns and full time are the same, so interns should be able to get a full time position if they work hard.
The Culture
Yes, social networking is very emphasied by the firm. The firm provides us with a lot of opportunities to catch up with colleagues, mentors and fellow interns. We have made a lot of friends very soon after we joined the firm, through work, group tour and after work sports or drinking.
The cost of living is high because this is London. Also, socialising such as eating outside and movies cost some money. However, in general I find these activities affordable given two facts. First our internship is paid so we get money. Also this is short time so rents will not cost a lot.
I have no opinion of the Nightlife in the area I work. This is because I am not a fan of drinking or going out after work. However, based on my understanding, the firm sits in a business area, where there aren't so many night life activities. However, there are several bars where people can go right after work.
Every day the work was rather average, so if we want to, we can find a lot of time to get involved in activities outside of work. For example, there is table tennis and gym area, where people can use after work or even in the middle of work. Also, there are many self-study opportunities.
