    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was a great experience as it give me a flavor of the role and the culture of the company. I was given day to day work and projects throughout the internship. I was kept busy throughout the period. I have learnt a lot about my role and the company. It met my expectation of a good internship experience.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • All the colleagues were extremely friendly. They will take out time from their busy timetable for a catch up. The colleagues were helpful when I needed help. They will stop and explain further when it was needed. I did not feel pressured when I need to ask questions or help from any of them.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager was very helpful and knowledgeable. Whenever I needed help, he will take time out to help me. I have a weekly meeting with my manager and at times almost everyday when I needed him. He made sure I have an enjoyable time over here. He understands what my goal was for this internship and he tried to work with me towards that goal.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Busy enough to keep me busy. I still have a work life balance and a decent working hours. They wont overwork you. Colleagues will start asking you to leave if you are working too long. There are time for to do my day to day and my project as well. There is also sufficient time for me to go for catch ups and networking.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • My responsibility was similar to a full time analyst. I get to work on my day to day and take on risky jobs as well. I felt valued and important within my team. After the end of the internship, I got a very good grasp of the team I am working in and able to evaluate if this is something I would want to do in the future. The team is very open when I ask for more responsibility during my free time.

  • The skills I have developed like time management and teamwork will definitely help me during my degree.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere in the office is generally enjoyable. During my internship, it is the non-peak season and many colleagues are away for their 2 weeks mandatory leave. It will be more lively during peak season. It is a good atmosphere to work in as everyone are really friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely learn a lot from each of the colleagues and it is comfortable environment to work in.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It was organised internship as there were training within my department about the different systems we used and how each sub division contributes to the department. There were HCM training on the different divisions and case study about the divisions. It is a good overall of what each divisions does.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • In terms of professional qualification, it depends on which division you are in. Some divisions the company will sponsor you while some doesnt. It is a good place for you to learn and develop. There isnt a time where I think I have stop learning and you will be always challenged.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • After internship, you may be offered a graduate role depending on your performance during the internship. There are opportunities to be promoted and work travel as well. There are chances of working in other locations. You will be constantly challenged as this company wants you to grow and learn.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement 西瓜视频s/colleagues?
  • Yes. Among the interns, we will go out for drinks and events together. There are some welcome drinks and networking session organized by the infinity network. Example there were a dragon boat race.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The cost of living is quite high as it is in the central of London. Therefore, the food and drinks here are more expensive. While for the accommodation, it was quite difficult to find a house nearby and it was difficult to get a house for 10 weeks as well.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • There are couple of places nearby for drinks that the colleagues usually go. It's not far from Soho. So there are plenty of nightlife there.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There are couple of clubs or network that enable to be involved in activities outside of work. If you join some affinity network, there are always events going on. There are times where the company organizes some sport events like dodgeball or golf. You could also join the sports club to represent the company for competition against our company's competitor.
