The Role
Overall the IBD internship at GS is great, would recommend to anybody interested in finance.
GS puts a lot of effort into their internship program and full time colleagues take time to get to know and tutor interns.
As an intern you have a big set of supervisors with different seniority and positions within the firm which is a great way to make sure that you receive sufficient guidance
Investment Banking is an intense industry and as a result you tend to be busy. That being said, the workload was mostly not overwhelming.
I felt like you were given the responsibility you earned. If you take ownership and deliver a good product, people naturally feel more comfortable giving you more stuff and responsibility
The internship starts of with 1 week of training which is a good way of getting everybody up to speed. However, most of the learning takes place when you formally hit the desk. GS offers a wide range of resources to help you improve your skills and people are more than happy to help you out if you're struggling with something in particular.
