The Role
I really enjoyed my internship at Goldman as It was a lot better than i expected as they raised the bar even higher. The people are great and make it easy for new joiners to blend into the system really quick. Also, there were tons of events that made the work enjoyable.
As an intern, we were given tasks that once completed would be beneficial to other colleagues one way or another. That gave a sense of value during my stay and i was not treated like an intern but rather like someone who has been in the firm for a long time.
Support was never lacking as i could walk up to any member of the team and ask questions even the most stupid ones and still get an answer without anyone looking down on you. There were events held to further help in utilizing support in the firm. Support was also rendered by members of other teams.
I was always busy daily doing something. I was either working on tasks or going for an event or getting to meet a senior member of the firm. But it was fun as time flew by without me realizing it each day but still had enough time for myself each day
Enough to keep you busy and make you feel valued but not too much to make you feel stressed and bored. I was made to understand the responsibility i had in my team and how to maximize my time carrying out those responsibilities. I had to give updates on the responsibilities i was given.
Honestly, I learnt as much as i did within the short period i had at the firm. I had the chance to implement what i have learnt in a real life scenario and also learn a lot from it and improve not only on my theoretical skills but also on the practical ones.
The Company
It was really organised. There were different teams set up to help with whole internship program and always contacting to know how i was doing. The whole program from start to finish was well planned out and it made the whole internship very comfortable during my stay at the firm.
There were tons of training and resources given to me by the firm to learn and improve on the skiils needed to carry out my tasks. There were members in the team willing to help and teach me skills to improve so there was no lack of investment in personal development.

Because it is based in Central London, cost of living such as transport and feeding and also accommodation can be really expensive. This is just one of the few things i can point out as being a con to my rather beautiful stay in London. Socializing was not so expensive.
There were tons of events . I would never have expected Goldman Sachs to offer, i had a community work event and also excursions, picnics and parties. At the beginning of the internship, i was sent a referral on places to go and activities to partake in. and THEY WERE FREE.
