The Role
I enjoyed the internship and had the chance to learn a lot more than I thought I would have the chance to. It has been a great learning experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get an insight into this field as the internship program truly gives you that chance.
Everyone I worked with has made a conscious effort to recognize the work I have done and taken the time out to tell me that I added value to the project and that my work has been useful. I think that this effort helped me feel more valued than I thought it would.
Everyone at PwC is extremely approachable and has always been ready to help me. I have had the chance to talk to people both on my project, in my office and people in different areas of the business, just to get their perspectives on various issues and help me make the most of my internship.
I feel that at PwC they recognise that while we all have to complete the work, the balance truly exists. Having the chance to work on two different projects showed me that projects have very different team dynamics but it is up to you how busy you want to be. There are many chances to get involved in work and keep you busy.
I was given a large responsibility in both projects and was able to see that my work was adding value to the project. Having the chance to work so closely with the clients and on actual deliverables gave me the confidence in my work and helped me feel that I played an important role.
As an Accounting and Finance 西瓜视频, the skills I developed here, such as presentation skills, Excel skills, etc., will help me improve the output I deliver at university and will help me have a greater grip on what I am studying at university. However there are certain skills which I feel won't be that helpful.
The Company
The atmosphere at the Birmingham office is extremely friendly. Even though during the consulting internship, we don't really get the chance to spend much time at the office, however much time I have spent here, I have truly enjoyed it and everyone has been very approachable and kind, keeping the atmosphere lively.
I think the program as a whole was very well organised and gave interns the chance to explore what they wanted. However not being able to choose which project you get assigned to or having the chance to give your preference is something that can be changed in my opinion, to give interns the chance to work on projects they prefer.
I think the 3 day induction away from the office was an important investment the company made in our training and gave us the chance to meet many people from different lines of service. However I feel that the training wasn't as relevant for consulting as it was quite repetitive in nature.

The culture at PwC has been very warm and welcoming and has made it a place that I would really want to come back to. The training and development opportunities for junior level employees are really varied, making it very appealing to me and a place I would want to come back to.
The Culture
I think that due to the nature of the job, not many people are around in the office as much, limiting the opportunities for social events. Moreover, the number of interns in my division were very few, thus not giving us the chance to meet many people. However whatever has been organised so far has been good.
Birmingham is decently priced and it is easy to have a decent social event within a budget. I think the cost of living is quite high, especially given that as a consulting intern, the chances of you spending time at the accommodation you have paid for are very limited.
N/A.
I believe there are various opportunities present at PwC beyond work to get involved with, however as I got really engrossed in the work I was doing, I did not really explore beyond it. They have a wide range of activities, appealing to various different groups of people and giving people the chance to get involved.
