    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The placement was an amazing experience, everyone there (both taking part in the internship and those full time at pwc) was very friendly and very supportive. I was able to have real hands on experience and contribute to real client cases helping learn more about assurance in the work place.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The other participants were very friendly where we all shared our experiences to support our work during the internship. There were many socials outside of work hours so that we were able to get to know eachother better. All of the full time staff were very helpful with any issues we had making work a lot more enjoyable.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • From the beginning I was given a lot of responsibilities with the tasks allocated but I always had a point of contact to ask for support. If I was struggling or confused at all there was always someone very willing to provide guidance on the tasks so that I could complete them successfully.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There was never a point in the day that I was bored. I always had work tasks to complete for clients - sometimes it did get a bit overwhelming but it was what I expected in the field of assurance. Despite always being busy, it鈥檚 made the day go very fast.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • From the onset I felt I was given a lot of responsibility completing work for clients independently. Sometimes I did feel out of my depth but it made me learn so much more. Despite this there was always someone to ask if I did need any help to ensure the work was still up to standard.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • As I am studying accounting and finance at university and hope to start a graduate scheme in assurance when I graduate, the skills I have developed in the assurance summer internship will definitely assist me. Not only will I use the technical knowledge but also my time management and confidence in the work place.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere was very focused on the work. We were able to socialise but it was understood that we were there to provide high standard work for the clients. Everyone in the office was still very supportive so it was never intimidating and made it relaxing enough to work well.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement was extremely well organised. At the beginning of the internship there was a residential trip with the other interns allowing us to feel confident within the team and begin to prepare us for the work when the internship fully began. I was then placed on different client work and was always given clear tasks for me to undertake.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The residential trip at the beginning allowed me to prepare for the beginning of the internship. The support system at pwc also meant that i was able to ask for help to develop not only my technical knowledge but other skills as well. They truly invested time in me to help me develop my skills.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • At the end of the summer internship I was offered a place on their assurance graduate scheme which I intend to take. Through this I will be able to complete my ACA qualification and begin my career as an accountant. There are so many opportunities to move in the company once I am there which I am very exited about.
