    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was a really great experience as I got to see what it was like to work in the firm and particularly in the branch I was hoping to work in. There were also loads of opportunities to meet other interns from other branches as well as get to know people from other teams.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone were so friendly and willing to help. They encouraged me to ask any questions I could potentially have and they were so keen to get me involved in different projects. They also ensured that I felt included and welcomed. I also met people from other teams who were just as friendly.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • When I was given any work, everyone explained things thoroughly and made sure that I understood what I needed to get done. Even when I didn't have any work to do, my buddy and people manager made sure that they took me around the whole team to see if there was anything I could do.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There were some days that were a bit quiet, but that was mainly because some people on the team were on holiday. However, this gave me time to make sure that I could do some further reading into the technical information I came across and helped me to further my understanding of some clients.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given ranging levels of responsibility. There were occasions where I was asked to make notes from client meetings but I was always given support from the team members around me. There were also some small tasks that I did that did not necessarily involve taking on a lot of responsibility.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • This internship gave me the chance to further my knowledge about ongoing changes in terms of regulations and I also came across a few areas that I had a basic knowledge in from my degree. I was able to see how what I learn at university is applied in practice.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Everyone in the office were so friendly. I was able to meet many people and every single person I met made me feel welcomed and made a lot of effort to get me involved in the work that they were doing. Regardless of position, everyone helped to make my experience an enjoyable one.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Everyone made an effort to take me to client meetings and get me involved in client calls and the work they did. I felt that although there was no strict structure to my placement, that made it more enjoyable as I came into work everyday and given the opportunity to get involved in completely new things.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was given access to the company's information portal and in the time that I was not doing work for others in the team, I was given the opportunity to access information that would help me further my knowledge. I was also given access to a lot of documents like reports which were all very useful.

    3/5
