The Role
I found it was a well balanced experience with a variety of opportunities, and in general a great introduction to the various aspects of the business as a whole. I got a chance to get an idea of how I would try to carve out a career for when I rejoin as a graduate.
My team were very welcoming and I was able to meet with managers and senior managers to discuss their particular areas of interest, to gauge what areas i might pursue when I return full time. People were very engaging, happy to answer my numerous questions and it's also very nice to be able to have fun with people outside of work or even on work away days!
The buddy/ people manager system is really conducive towards ensuring you're able to express worries and concerns you may develop, and it does mean that one is able to get good advice so that you're able to pursue areas you are more interested in and make the most of your short time at the company.
I generally found myself to be quite busy and so long as I was seeking out opportunities I found that I was able to find myself on more technical/ exciting business development projects, but there was also often a lot of other work that I would need to be doing that was chargeable.
There is definitely a mix of responsibilities; with work, once a brief has been discussed we are generally entrusted to get on with the work and keep the relevant individuals updated with regards to the progress. If you're struggling, it's quite nice to be able to turn to anyone in your team for help, but otherwise there is a decent level of trust you'll get on with what you need to be doing.
I enjoyed exploring my Python skills outside of Physics and I have definitely apply some of the new methods i have learned in my future studies.
The Company
It's very relaxed and the atmosphere ensures you maintain a fun but focussed work ethic. Decent coffee.
There's a good level of communication and introductory content, and there are a lot of people who spend time ensuring things are working out as intended so that one obtains the best experience possible.
There is a good training course in the Induction week and there was an opportunity to use online platforms and other people's experience to get some relevant on the job training.

The future ambitions for the data team to shift towards more technical work is what attracts me to working for PwC in the future.
The Culture
People are generally very pleasant and there are always opportunities to have fun and join in.
Leeds is quite affordable and it means that socialising is quite accessible as an intern, and I know others were able to afford living in Leeds as well.
Leeds has a reputation for a quality night out.
We had a great away day full of opportunities such as 4x4 off road driving and clay pigeon shooting, but there are also smaller more regular socials so it's quite a relaxed and fun place to work.
