The Role
I really enjoyed working for PwC in the Reading office for the assurance division. On the whole, I thought that it was a good experience since it better allowed me to understand what the job involved. I got the opportunity to perform actual work and really felt like part of the team.
I really felt like a valued member of all the various teams that I was lucky enough to work for. I was given genuine work to perform and I think that people were genuinely relying on my work in order to successfully work as part of the team. I felt like a part of the team.
All the staff that I spoke to were very friendly and they were very approachable - I was always able to go to them and ask for help or go to them and ask for support. This made me feel comfortable in performing my tasks since I knew I could rely on them.
On the whole I had stuff to do, I think I had a fair amount of work to complete every single day. However occasionally the teams that I was working for ran out of stuff for me to do and I would have to find my own stuff to do, which is part of the job.
I was given lots of work to do and I was left alone to do it, if I had chosen not to do the work of if I had not done the work properly I would have delayed the team and slowed them down, which is obviously not ideal, I feel like I had good responsibility.
I got a job offer from them so I think it'll help me a lot for the obvious reason that when I graduate I'll have a job (which is super useful when going into third year of uni) I learn lots of soft skills too which I will find useful in day to day life.
The Company
The office vibe was very good on the whole - everyone is really friendly and there is great opportunity do be social with them all. It iss not stressed and not frantic either, I'd say it's got a very good atmosphere over all. It's a big office and as such you get good places to work where it's quiet.
Not bad but not great - I think once I was on the teams it was great since there was a good plan and I had good work assigned to me. Additionally the week at the start was very good too, with lots to do whilst in the hotel - which is great.
A lot of effort was invested in me as an intern, they put a lot of time into making me feel comfortable with the work that I had, additionally they spent a lot of time teaching me and training me, there was also a three day hotel trip where we were taught how to do the job.

I already have been very lucky in the sense that I have been given the opportunity to come back because they offered me a job. This is great because It means in my last year of university I can focus on work and not on trying to find a job, this is really useful.
The Culture
All of the other inters are very friendly, we all go out very often to be social in town. We have lunch together and we go out after work together. I also talk to a lot of them during the day - there is a really good social scene here I think.
Reading seems to be very reasonably priced in my personal opinion - there is good opportunity to go out relatively cheaply and lunch is also very cheap which I think is useful. You do not have to spend too much money in order to have a good time socialising, which is better compared to London.
The nightlife is Amazing, there is so much different stuff you can do, for example you could go to the pub, or another example is you could go to the nightclub, finally another example is you could go to a restaurant with colleagues, this is really good because there's so much that you can do.
It is a good company to work for outside of the office because there is so much for you to do, you can go on sports socials, or you can go to meet friends after work, basically there is so many opportunities to get to know everybody which is really useful.
