The Role
I was involved in two different projects at the same time which was fairly eye opening for me. The first project I did not really enjoy, however, the second which was more consulting based was much more enjoyable.
Usually after finishing work, and creating deliverables, my colleagues showed their appreciation.
Everyone within my team was extremely approachable whenever I needed to ask a question or needed help to finish an assignment.
Very project dependent, sometimes I would be busy for all the hours of the day, in others, they were some idle time.
Throughout both projects I completed tasks which went out directly to clients. As well as that my work was just like any other analysts work with the same pipeline and flow.
The internship was only 6 weeks so I don't think much of the technical skills has been transferred apart from maybe SQL. However, communication and soft skills has been a big advancement and practice.
The Company
Amazing team and my manager was very calm and collective. Approachable, calm and friendly atmosphere.
The overall setting up of laptop/software work was smooth with a few hiccups. The overall work placement could have been improved a bit more. For example there should be clear directions for projects that are going to be given to the intern with clear deliverables.
I didn't really have any training of what work I needed to do. I was sort of thrown in the deep end and tried to learn through experience and the work.
Flexi Time
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Very appealing, even though the starting salary could be improved in comparison to the competitors, there's a clear way of getting promoted with good bonuses.
The Culture
Yes, but nothing that PwC organised apart from the induction. The interns themselves planned many social events.
London is expensive...Wish they paid more, I feel the pay is very bad for interns.
Living in London for the last 13 years so I know how great the nightlife is.
I believe there are activities outside of work, but they were not well advertised. For example I did not know about any activities that any of the colleagues were involved in or did not get the chance to find out either.
