The Role
It was a great insight into PwC as a company and the audit sector. In addition, the internship gives you the opportunity to work on a range of client over a 6 week period.
All the colleagues are extremely nice and accommodating, even if you don't have any accounting background. Furthermore, everyone in the office takes the effort to help you understand the task on hand and it's values, rather than just assigning you endless amount of tasks.
Supervisors are constantly within reach, on all the projects I have worked on. They are very happy to answer any questions you may have. Also, do check in with you regularly to ensure your on track.
There are some days you will have a lot of tasks on hand and may have to stay behind to complete the tasks if there is a deadline on the table. Other days are a bit more relaxed and you may be able to do your tasks at your own pace.
Everyone at the office treat the interns like they are valued, hence give you tasks which they would give to an associate who would start the job. Eventually, you get familiar with the job and may be handed more complex tasks to complete.
I study Chemical Engineer, therefore may not be the most applicable to my degree. However, when I return as a graduate I certainly will have a head start and be at ease settling into the job.
The Company
General atmosphere of the office is professional at the same time laid back. You don't have dedicated tables, you can sit anywhere in the office. On the other hand, the client's office is not so laid back.
PwC have a well organised system in place in terms of allocation of tasks and clients, which are all dealt with by the resourcing department.
There ia an initial residential training that is intensive but majority of the development happens on job. PwC take great care of their interns and want to ensure the interns make the best of their internship, which is throughout reflected on the residential and on job training.
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
I would certainly consider returning as a graduate in the Audit department.
The Culture
PwC do have a lot of socials happening on a monthly basis, to include a fun aspect to the job. The socials are generally well organised and enjoyable and a great opportunity to network.
I worked in Uxbridge. I travelled in everyday and the cost of food is reasonable in Uxbridge (approximately 拢4 to 拢7).
There ia a bar 2 minutes from the office, where PwC employees get a discount.
Yes there are weekly sports such as football and tennis for free that PwC employees get involved in.
