    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Overall I found the internship a very positive experience. I gained a real insight into my chosen line of service and it was interesting to learn about many varied clients through the jobs I was put on. I really loved meeting as many people as I did and became good friends with the other interns.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone was incredibly welcoming and made an effort to include me in activities such as lunches and work drinks. You weren't treated like an intern but the same as a new associate.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Initially when joining you're introduced to your buddy and people manager who are there to help you with any issues you may have. Your buddy is incredible useful person to contact for day to day support. Your people manager also keeps in touch with you throughout the internship to support you and address any problems.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • On clients site when working alongside your team they will almost always have tasks to set you. At the beginning of the internship if you have unassigned days it's up to you to use your own initiative to find work through talking to people or keeping yourself busy with the elearns they set you.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • We were assigned the same level of responsibility as an associate, so completed all their normal tasks on an audit. This would then be reviewed by a manager or senior associate. Therefore, there was real responsibility but your work would always be checked for mistakes so there was comfort in that.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Completing the internship has definitely increased my confidence and ability to build relationships with new people. It's also an incredibly useful for understanding how office environments work. It's enhanced my understanding of audit and accounting as none of that is covered in my degree so if i do choose to follow that career path I have gained the initial training.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The office environment is friendly but due to the nature of audit work it's much harder to get to know everyone as people are only in for a day at a time. During your client work you are often in the clients office so that varies greatly. I had a really positive experience in a busy London office and less positive on a remote business park.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Throughout the whole process of applying you are constantly updated with detailed emails of what to do and where to go. The residential is very well organised and ran very smoothly. The actual work is less organised and it's more up to you to reach out through emails to find out information.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm invest a lot in your training. You're taken on a three day residential at the beginning of the internship with all the other interns where they teach you fairly advanced accounting over the three days. They also introduce to the software they use so it won't be new to you in the office.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The company are looking to keep all their interns on if possible due to the amount they invest in you. Everyone was very confident that most interns would be offered a graduate placement. Certainly of the people I was in contact with from the residential and the over interns in my office this was true and we were all successful at getting a graduate job.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement 西瓜视频s/colleagues?
  • The residential with all the other interns was incredibly fun networking social environment, which I actually made really good friends on. In the office you are included in all the social events such as work drinks and lunches. We witnessed that among the associates once you've joined the firm there is a big social scene as they all know each other through college.

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • As the office environment was always changing this varied. In London it was obviously a more pricey to go out for lunch but also a lot of choice so you could avoid paying loads if you wanted. On the business parks you have no choice to pay their monopoly prices in the canteens.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • 3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I wasn't in the office long enough to take part in these I feel. I heard other offices have events such as summer balls and know that many of the offices have sports teams that compete for sports such as football and netball. There were also social meals i saw emails being sent around for.
