The Role
It was an amazing experience, I enjoyed it very much. Everyone was great at teaching me and were always willing to answer my questions. All of the staff people were very friendly and there always has been a lot of support for me. Overall, I would recommend the internship to anyone interested in PwC and career in financial services.
I felt valued to a very large extent by all of my colleagues. From day one you are given full responsibility at work with a lot of support from the team. In-charge on the job always made sure that we I have enough work and that I have clear understanding of what I am doing.
As mentioned previously, I was give a lot of support and guidance by all of my supervisors on all of the jobs. Before the working day, supervisor would always sit down with me outline all of the tasks for me, and set up a guidelines on shared google document. I was free to ask any questions, and it was encouraged.
You are expected to work for roughly 37.5- 40 hours a week, but it varies from day to day. At PwC they encourage you to work flexibly, you can leave early, come early, as long as the work is done its fine. Overall, it will vary with client to client, for some clients I had 50 hours week.
I was given full responsibility from day one. At first you are encouraged to check in with the senior before you do anything, but as soon as you have done something previously or the senior sees that you are capable of doing it on your own, from there it is fully your responsibility (of course you can ask for help any time).
I come from Engineering background, so the direct skills from the training are not so applicable to me, but I got very good at paying attention to detail and Excel. That said, PwC is great at teaching you from whatever background you come from. By the end of the internship I would say that there is no difference between a person who studies math or finance.
The Company
Atmosphere is great, but from my experience it varies from office to office, each office has its own unique culture. In the office, it is very relaxed, you can dress down, when working with client you need to dress more smart. Overall, all of the teams I worked with had a very good impact on me, and everyone was very nice to me.
It is very well organised. Internship is 6 weeks long, the first week is all about training and induction. From there on its 5 weeks of working with clients, there are also a few activities running in the background that you can participate in, but i didn't. Day to day was very well organised by seniors, everything was planned.
Company invested a lot in me, from training to answering my questions. At times I felt like I should not bother colleagues too much with my questions, but whenever I wasn't asking questions, they always started to check in with me, and asked if I understand everything and if I know what I am doing. It felt like company wanted to invest in me, and for me to stay after.

PwC has very good structure and clear career path. As an intern you can't really tell how fast you progress, but from talking to seniors they say that you get promoted from year to year. Your career is closely linked to the professional qualification. Overall, the future employment prospects are good.
The Culture
Yes, there were a lot of events. Nearly every week there was something happened. I was also involved with charity work at local school, and have been invited to all of the events. Everyone was very friendly and make me feel welcome, I was even invited to social events that were organised outside work.
Office was in Crawley, the cost of living is very cheap here. I rented a room for 500 pounds a month with bills included. Internship pays well, and covers all the bills. Office is also located close to the station so if you commute to work it is very easy too.
Most of the time I was away travelling around the country, so I can't speak about nightlife near the office where I lived. On the days when I did stay in Crawley I didn't get out much and preferred to stay at home. However there is always something going on with the office, so you can always find someone to go out with.
As mentioned before, there were a lot of activities happening outside work. From volunteering, to social events at the office. On away days, you would always go out with the team for dinners and socialise with them. Your peers and juniors would also always organise something on the weekends which are the activities organised on their own.
