    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I somewhat enjoyed my placement. I went to a variety of clients in a variety of different places. i also got to use the specific software for the company which was good. however, sometimes i felt like i was just given jobs that people didn't want to do rather than would help my development.

    3/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The extent to which i felt valued really varied throughout my internship. I generally felt pretty valued by first or second years and by managers. however i found that those who had been in the job for a more significant amount of time but were not in management positions had really lost touch with what it was like to be in my position and so made me feel like more of a hinderence.

    3/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Guidance was generally quite good but sometimes slipped when i was being set work by members of staff who didnt seem to appreciate me as much. mostly my questions were answered very helpfully and i didnt seem like i was being a pain but there were some exceptions to this.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There was almost always something i could be doing a whilst on my internship. Staff members almost always seemed to have jobs for me if i asked for them when i was finished with my last task. This couldve been improved if i had been given a set of tasks.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • there was not too much opportunity to take responsibility on my internship. i was given full responsibility over myself and getting myself to jobs. I was not pestered about what i was doing at any time and was given the responsibility to make sure i had enough work to do

    2/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • whilst i feel that describing the training i received as a "waste of time" is very unfair i do not think that working here would have aided my studies in any significant way at all. this is because the work was very specific on how to perform an audit and this doesn't translate to anything other than that.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • the general atmosphere in the office was good. everybody seemed very friendly and the hotdesk system means that everyone is very casual with each other. the office also operates on address for your day basis which made the atmosphere much nicer. the office is often very empty though as most employees are out with clients

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement was moderately well organised as i was allocated to many jobs in different places and was always contacted early to organise my travel there and hotels when needed. The internship did suffer from being part of a big company as it meant many processes had to be run through which meant i had my manager changed 3 times whilst on the job.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm invested somewhat in me. i was taught how to use all the systems that i was rewuired to use even when this took time to do. THe firm also gave us a three day taught induction at an off site centre which felt like a good investment in us

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • National Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    2/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The percentage of interns who get offered a job is very high on this internship which is good. the idea of coming into employment and working whilst also gaining a qualification is very appealing. however, the work is hard and the pay isnt as high as could be earnt elsewhere.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement 西瓜视频s/colleagues?
  • Whilst on our internship we had our summer ball which was the highlight of the social involvement on the internship. there is also a social on the first Friday of each month but we did got get to experience this on our internship. It felt like there couldve more socials

    2/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Whilst on my internship i lived at home so didnt experience the costs of living other than in terms of petrol and lunches. petrol prices are slighlty above average which isnt ideal considering how much i had to drive to jobs. food is pretty standard and not too expensive which was good.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Whilst on my internship there wasnt much oppurtunity to experience the nightlife. however, considering I am a local I have more experience with the nightlife scene. The nightlife is dominated heavily by locals which does somewhat take away from the experience. there are only a few nightclubs which would be suitable but can be quite fun

    2/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • there was not an abundance of opportunities to partake in activities out of work whilst on my internship. however, i was invited to play with the cricket team on one occasion which was a highlight of my internship. whilst i heard of their being other sports teams these opportunities never presented themselves.
