The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship. I have gotten a lot more out of it than I thought I would. It has confirmed for me that I would like to pursue a career at PwC in the OneGM Tax sector. I enjoyed learning about all the different forms of tax, and progressing in my own field.
I felt very valued by my colleagues. I believe that in the time that I have spent here I have gotten quite close with most of them and they always made me feel very relaxed and comfortable in front of them and I have definitely felt like part of the team.
Everyone was very supportive and friendly and made me feel comfortable asking them about anything and everything and I really appreciate that. I was guided through every stage and every task and the feedback that I was provided with was also very helpful. I am really appreciative of everything that they did for me.
I was very busy. I never had a spare moment but I enjoyed it a lot. I would rather have a lot of work that little work and so my colleagues kept me very busy which I really appreciate. Having a lot of made me feel valued and it also set me up for what is to come.
I believe that I was given a lot of responsibility during my placement. I was thrown in the deep end a lot but this allowed me to grown and learn a lot faster than I thought I would. I had to give a presentation to the whole of OneGM tax which I was very proud of and was a huge responsibility.
They will assist me in my degree as I am even more motivated than before to succeed as I have had a taste of the working world and I have really enjoyed every moment of it and so I am even more driven to reach the end goal of hopefully a career at PwC.
The Company
It was friendly. Everyone was really nice to each other and supportive and acted the same towards me. Everyone was also really professional throughout the duration of my internship. It was nice to see partners and directors sit on the same tables as myself and senior associates and to see that there wasn't a divide between them.
I believe that the internship was really well organised and set up and I would not have changed anything about it. I was exposed to so many different areas and everything made a huge amount of effort to make sure that I was okay or that I had enough work.
I believed that I have learnt a huge amount through my internship. At the start everything was very new and daunting but I believe that I have come really far now and have been able to complete every task given to me. I am now able to use all of the PwC software such as the timesheet, tiger, DMS, the mailboxes, etc.
Company Parties/Events
Very appealing. I have gotten a lot more out of this internship than I initially anticipated and it has made me certain that a career in PwC is the career path that I would most definitely like to pursue. I would also love to go in to the same line of tax.
The Culture
Yes. All of the interns had lunch with each other every lunch time except for when we had other engagements on such as lunch with our buddies or lunch with our team. We all became good friends and were really supportive of one another and created a tight community.
Very expensive. The commute especially was unbelievably expensive for me. And the cost of socialising is a lot more expensive than what I am use to as I am use to the cheap prices in the North whereas the office that I was located in, is in the south at Embankment.
Unfortunately I did not have the pleasure of experiencing the night life during my placement however the few bars that I went to with my colleagues were really fun and enjoyable and I had a great time. I would love to experience the night life further if I come back.
Yes. I often went for drinks with my colleagues or organised lunches that we all went to together that made me feel like part of the team. They also organised a social for me before I leave which I am very excited about that includes the entirely of OneGM at EP.
