About You
It was an amazing experience and I would definitely recommend it to any 西瓜视频. Personally, I felt like a part of Goldman Sachs in these two weeks. It was great to meet so many people and all the different events that took place during the two weeks. Work shadowing, presentations, coding events and my favourite networking.
I felt really valued during my time at Goldman Sachs despite the fact that I am just a first-year 西瓜视频 and have had no experience working before. We had a project where we tried to solve one of the issues the company faced in the technology division and I believe our ideas were genuinely given importance and throughout the project, we were provided with a lot of support.
Everyone was so supportive. You could email anyone and they would mostly reply to you. I personally felt I could ask anyone my doubts and expect a reply from them. Even for our group project, we were supported throughout. We were regularly reminded that no question is a dumb question and the learning curve was very steep.
The skills that I developed during my two-week internship will definitely help me a lot as a person. I received some feedback from my teammates at the end of the programme and I have made sure that I change my bad habits according to it. The information I received here will help me in my general knowledge about technology but currently, I am not sure what role it would play in my degree studies.
The Company
The insight was structured really well with a lot of information and support available at every step. It could have been structured better but it was really good. We were given enough time each day to set up our own meetings and increase our network and knowledge of the firm. We had different events like presentations and group projects. My favourite was work shadowing. The fact that the Goldman Sachs Internship is two weeks long is an additional benifit.
Energetic. Positive. Happy. Informative. People were buzzing with energy and passion. Everyone was excited for each new day, even our mentors and HR. People were so good to each other and always excited. I loved the vibes I got throughout the insight week. A general happy and positive atmosphere always surrounded me.
We were first-year 西瓜视频s, with no experience in the job industry. The company really invested a lot in our personal training and development. I feel the skills I learnt in these two weeks at Goldman Sachs will be helpful for me throughout my life. We had training sessions even for 西瓜视频s who had never coded before.
We were not treated like new interns instead I felt like I was a part of Goldman Sachs throughout the two weeks at the firm. We were free to contact and meet people from different divisions to gain knowledge about the different teams and divisions within Goldman Sachs. I believe I was able to understand what it would be like to have a full-time role with the company significantly.
I felt like I was a part of Goldman Sachs throughout the two weeks at the firm. Meeting so many like-minded people, attending different events and networking there helped me understand the people who work at Goldman Sachs and the kind of culture they have created at the company. I believe I was able to understand what the Goldman Sachs culture is like beyond just reading about it on the internet.
This gave me an insight into the finance side of Tech industry.
Everything Else
We were paid and reimbursed expenses. Not many firms pay first years for spring weeks and money is always a bonus at college. I was glad that Goldman Sachs pays interns so handsomely for their time and services. I would recommend this spring week internship to any year university 西瓜视频.
Yes there were alot of opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the firm. You were free to email anyone and set up a meeting with them. Mostly people would reply to you very fast and would be glad to meet you too. It was on the 西瓜视频 to make the most out of the experience.
There were alot of opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the firm. Besides the usual networking drinks 西瓜视频s were free to set up meetings and meet new people. You were also assigned mentors who helped you alot. You could talk to anyone you wanted to, to gain an insight to the firm.
Yes, we had sessions about the activities that employees can get involved in outside of work and about concepts like work - life balance which is very important. We could also try out the gym class that other employees get to be a part of. Also, my mentor told me about the activities they were a part of.
ABSOLUTELY YES! EVERY PERSON SHOULD DO THE INSIGHT AT GOLDMAN SACHS IF GIVEN AN OPPORTUNITY TO. IT IS A LIFETIME EXPERIENCE SPECIALLY AS A NEW UNI STUDENT. IT TEACHES YOU A LOT WHILE BEING EXCITING AND FUN. YOU MEET SO MANY NEW, SMART AND DIFFERENT PEOPLE. IT IS FABULOUS. DEFINITELY GO FOR IT !1
