About You
It was great we could speak to specialists from different departments and got chances to work shadow them. Would have been more enjoyable if there were more real-life coding work to do.
Anyone was willing to help if there was anything I did not know about or I struggled with.
We all had a buddy who worked full time at Goldman Sachs who we could find and ask for advice/help.
Helped with team work and group projects, presentation but did not help directly helped with any specific module at school as it was a really short insight programme.
The Company
Started with compliance and introduction to the company so we knew where to start and it was made clear what we needed to prioritise during the spring insight programme.
Everyone was very friendly and willing to help, buddy scheme has helped settling into the atmosphere at the firm quickly and also being assigned into groups for both the group project and work shadowing helped soak into the environment very quickly. Generally very welcoming
Did a Python workshop where we could improve our coding skill and provided talks to help figure out the right path to start building the career in the future.
Got a rough picture of what some technology jobs in some of the departments in GS and had plenty of chance to talk to employees which gave me a good idea of what a day to day life would be like working here.
Gave talks about how some employees were able to integrate to the culture at GS, explained how diverse it was.
Work shadowing sessions and the fact that everyone was willing to meet up/reply to your email about the job has helped a lot in deciding which path we might like to take.
Everything Else
Will be paid on the last day of the spring week programme.
There was an opportunity to network with employees at the firm and a lot of people were very responsive towards emails and internal messenger chats.
Good drinks and food were provided, employees were very approachable.
Yes/no. Went to a talk about life after work but not sure if they talked about anything at GS outside of work that employees can be involved in.
Yes as it helps figure out what different departments do at GS and a lot of networking opportunities.
