  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • Fast paced and focused learning environment. I learnt a huge amount in two weeks.

    • Employees were always very willing to talk to the intern group, which allowed us to have access to fantastic learning resources.

    • Excellent guidance from the HCM team. We were always well informed about the tasks we had to complete.

    • The main skill I have developed is in communication; reaching out to people with a wider knowledge base to improve the speed of my learning.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?

    • The days were filled with interesting insights into the business. Early on in the internship there weren't sufficient comfort breaks, but that improved as the internship went on and the diary became more self led.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?

    • Positive. It was very collaborative, and didn't just seem like a rat race between the interns. HCM made sure of that from day 1.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • A huge amount of investment went into the week. I was particularly impressed with the IT services we had access to.

    • This could have been improved on, as we were unable to do any work on the desks we rotated around.

    • A firm focus on the firm's employees; they really value their human resources.

    • This improved as the internship went on and we had more flexibility with our calendars - rotating around desks in which we were interested.

    • The payment was not something I expected for the 2 weeks as it was extremely educational.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?

    • Excellent opportunities for networking; employees were also very willing to meet with interns.

    • We didn't have many networking events as such, it was done within office hours.

    • Yes, there was definitely an awareness of work life balance and the movements that employees are getting involved in.

    • Absolutely. It has definitely given me more of an idea of the career path I wish to take.
