About You
The whole experience was very enjoyable. Activities ranged from case-studies to talks by members of the Senior Management on how the firm operates. We got to know the different divisions and to what extent they differ from one another. The atmosphere in the group was very supportive and I got to know many new people.
From the moment I arrived to the moment I left, I felt like I was truly part of Goldman Sachs. Senior management made the time to come speak with us which often led to interesting discussions about their past experiences. We were also given the opportunity to network with people from all over the firm.
Human Capital Management was very supportive throughout the whole two weeks. They made sure everyone felt comfortable about what was going on and helped people with their time management. They guided us very well during the whole two weeks and made sure everyone had the opportunity to ask all the questions they wanted.
Definitely! The vendor training we received at the beginning of the internship will definitely help me throughout my career. Valuation methods will be very useful wherever you end up. Additionally, the skill of networking is very important during a professional career. Overall, the internship has enhanced my understanding of finance.
The Company
We received weekly schedules, which outlined all the activities during that week. It was very detailed allowing participants to plan efficiently and thus be able to get as much done as possible during the limited time we spent at the firm. All activities were very well organised and stuck to the timings outlined in the schedule.
The atmosphere in the group was very enjoyable as everyone was very supportive for one another. I made some good friends, which made my time at the firm very fun. Although the workload was quite heavy from time to time, we managed to relax as a group, which made the cohesion even stronger.
Throughout the whole internship, the company invested a lot in every single individual intern. During the first week we received a vendor training from a professional firm. This was very useful and we learned a lot. Furthermore, people from senior management made time to come speak to us and talk about their experiences.
Overall, the insight week was very useful in getting to know the firm and getting to know what it means to be an analyst at Goldman Sachs. Many analysts came to speak to us about their experiences of when they first joined the firm some years ago. Additionally, the case studies also gave us an insight into the everyday activities of an analyst.
On a whole, the two week Spring Internship helped a lot in getting to know the culture at the firm. During my time here I got a real feeling of how supportive the people are and how they push each other to work hard and to improve day in day out.
Overall, the Spring Internship was very useful in determining my future career path. During my two week insight week at the company, I became even more fascinated by the world of finance and investment banking. The many conversations with analysts, associates, VP's and MD's helped me in making this choice as every single one of them was so enthusiastic about their job.
Everything Else
On a whole, during the internship, there were more than enough moments during which we could network. Networking events ranged from Networking Lunches with analysts, to afternoon tea with Vice Presidents. Additionally, we were given enough free time during which we could contact people to network. This was very helpful as I developed essential networking skills.
Very good
Yes there were several sessions organised on this topics. This way we got to know the life of an investment banker outside the office.
Yes!
