    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The internship offered an amazing insight into the company's day to day activities, it culture and it was a great opportunity to meet with the employees. The environment was relaxed, the work incredibly interesting and the people - interns and employees - were amazing!

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Once you step into the office you lose the "intern status", you become one of them. You are strongly encourage to be part of the team and to feel like you are really part of the team. Fitting in hasn't been a problem. Older colleagues were incredibly available to give help and extra explanations when needed. When working on a project everyone's opinion was welcomed.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Everyone on the team was ready to help me out when needed. If they were busy they would remember my request and come back to me asking if they could still help me with something once they were a little less busy. A team of buddies, mentors, sponsor was set up in order to provide as much support as possible during the whole internship. People were always ready to discuss about work, about a project we were working on but also they were ready to offer guidelines on pretty much everything e.g. career, family, sports...

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Given it was summer the workload was lower than during other periods of the year but if you were ager to learn you could ask around and they'll find something to show you or staff you on.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Responsibilities increased during the program as my knowledge and my ability to perform tasks increased. It felt good to learn and to be rewarded with more responsibility after every little step.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Real world is very different from what's written in the books. Many of the skills and topics I have learnt about during the summer are been discussed in class right now and it's good to have a practical experience to go along with the theory. Some other skills, more personal and less degree-related are vital and usable every day.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The office was usually relaxed and quiet but it was fun too. It was an open space with possibility to talk to everyone from the most junior to the most senior. Lunches were consumed together in the canteen and so were dinners. I feel like I have found friends instead of just colleagues

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Internship was perfectly structured and organized. The two rotation system worked perfectly as it gave us the possibility to see and experience two different parts of the same division. Communications to interns were always clear and sent out in advanced. A team of Human Resources employees was always ready to answer any doubts/question. Interns had the possibility to meet with senior employees during organized events. Throughout the internship there were training sessions and team/sport/networking events organized to keep the group together.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I felt like they started investing on us way before we actually arrived at the office on he first day. Amount of support was incredible both from a structural and a human point of view.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised/Company Gym

    International Travel

    Working from home

    Healthcare/Dental

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very appealing!

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement 西瓜视频s/colleagues?
  • The group of interns was very closed and friendly. It didn't feel like there was competition between us. We supported each other during work hours and enjoyed the weekends together by traveling and discovering the places around the office. It came natural also to socialism with junior employees that were available to get coffees and for catch ups throughout the whole internship.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Quite expensive as we were right in the city but not impossible.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Full of restaurants, bars, pubs, some clubs. Lots of alternatives if you had time. Given its strategy position - city - it was easier to reach any other part of the town by public transport/taxi without too many problems. Best clubs were a bit far off but not impossible to reach. During both the weekdays and the weekends the area was full of people.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Worked took up most of the available time but I still managed to get my time alone or time to do something else such as going out with friends, sports and so on

    4/5
