The Role
It has been a great experience, both for the job and for the people I worked with.
Extremely valued, everybody within the team and within the office was interested in hearing my opinions and I felt encouraged to contribute.
Part of the job was to
In general I always had much to do, certain weeks I had many project to complete for the team and for the programme. In the "light" weeks I studied many pieces of research and investment guides.
Due to the Swiss secrecy and the "secure zone" I had no access to the accounts and this inevitably impacted the amount of responsibilities I could be given. Nevertheless, I worked on many projects that directly impacted the clients and the team.
I developed both technical and soft skills: as for the first I will be able to contextualize the theory from the books/classes much more and understand with a more practical approach. As for the second, these are truly invaluable and will help not only through university, but also throughout my professional life.
The Company
The athmosphere was truly one of the best aspects of my internship. The Zurich office is smaller compared to other Goldman Sachs' locations (100 employees overall). The company collaborative and inclusive culture, coupled with such small size, made the envrinoment truly cohesive and pleasurable.
The summer internship program at GS is very well structured. During the first week the interns' schedule is full of learning sessions and classess. These range from excel modelling to presentations skills. Nevertheless, after a few weeks, the program also left time for the interns to work on real life project enabling them to have a responsibilities 矛 since the begginning.
The company really values its interns. This is indeed clear from the amount of resources you have. Since day one I had an unbelievable amount of development opportunities. RThese come not only to classess, but also from the availability of more senior employees to teach you new things.

Very appealing. I truly wanted to go back and when received an offer, did not hesitaded a second to accept it.
The Culture
The first day I entered the office all the junior people came to me offering help for any matter, technical related or not. They also were incredibly inclusive and organized events to spend time together also outside of the work environment.
Zurich is a very expensive city. Nevertheless I found that the salary was proportioned to the cost of life.
Rather good. Within Switzerland Zurich is with no doubt the most active city for the Nightlife. It is also a very international city.
Yes. On top of bars, restaurants and clubs, Zurich has a beautiful lake and mountins around. It is perfect for hikes, sailing and skiing.
