The Role
I really enjoyed my time at the company, really great colleagues and support in place. I did stress at times but this was part of the journey and my own development.
I received regular, honest and supportive feedback. Weekly 121 sessions with my manager and quarterly reviews to assess my development and performance.
I had my line manager, my Undergraduate Scheme leader and had been assigned a mentor on the graduate scheme as a more informal form of support. In addition to this I had my immediate team for support as well.
Always very busy, I enjoyed this as I managed to take on and achieve quite a lot, gaining some amazing experience in the process.
I had the opportunity to lead my own projects during my placement and the level of responsibility really surpassed my initial expectations.
Definitely skills for life, during my time I worked in several areas of the business, with each new job role gaining new skills and experiences. I have finished my placement a different person as I have developed so much both personally and professionally.
The Company
Relaxed, flexible. The general attitude was that as long as you could achieve your tasks and deliver then you were given free reign to manage your own time and schedule, if you had an issues you were encouraged to speak to your manager to resolve and go through this. My team had morning mini catch ups at breakfast to discuss our progress and any issues we had that our manager could support us on, was completely open/relaxed and really helped.
The organisation of the placement was a little poor, there wasn't such a rigid structure in place, I didn't receive any initial formal training simply started the job on day 1. As every 3 months I was rotating to new areas of the business this too wasn't very well structured and I had to take this upon myself to chase and secure instead of my scheme leaders. Ultimately the weakness of the placement in this sense enabled me to chase and secure roles myself, becoming more proactive in the process.
Development is taken very seriously, at the end of each rotation I would have a formal review with my scheme leader and manager at the time, we would review my performance, agree next steps and revisit these at the end of the next rotation. I was always being pushed to develop both my strengths and weaknesses and be much more aware of these too.

Very, I had the chance to fast track onto the graduate program, which I went for and will be starting next year! With such a large company that is always progressing, there are plenty of employment prospects and various graduate schemes.
The Culture
We had several Undergraduate community days to help us build a team, it didn't help that placement 西瓜视频s aren't at the same location and spread throughout the U.K. However I did have a good team/group of placement 西瓜视频s where I was based in Nottingham.
Rent was very similar to what I am paying at University and same with the social scene too.
