The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement year, it provided many challenges and learning鈥檚 which were enjoyable to overcome and looking back on my progress I am really happy with how I have developed and what I have achieved in my year here. I would enormously recommend a placement to anyone wishing to push themselves beyond their studies.
I believe I fit into the team from the word GO. My colleagues were very accepting and encouraging of me and always there to offer a helping hand when they could. They were always keen to help me and my personal development and ensure that my work was fun and meaningful.
I feel extremely lucky to have had such a supportive and available manager here at GSK. My manager has always been available to offer her time and help in both my work but also developing my personal competencies here. I have learnt so much due to the challenges she put in my path to then help me learn from by overcoming them.
I found myself a nice busy on a daily basis. I was able to complete all the objectives I set out to do but also have time to network with people in the office and across other functions in the business. I felt this was extremely helpful as I learnt a lot about other parts of the business.
I was pleasantly surprised when my manager gave me the same amount of responsibility as some of the direct entry role colleagues within the business. This meant I was able to make a real difference within the team and again respect off my colleagues and peers and also learn a great deal.
The skills I developed within my placement scheme will assist towards my degree massively. I was able to truly understand economies of scale and large business operations. I have learnt many things large businesses do to succeed and I can use this to my advantage in my studies at university
