    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed it a lot! Definitely the best experience that you can get from your university years! You will feel challenged and your work will be appreciated exactly like you'd work full time!

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • A lot. I worked closely with my team, continuously developing new features. Did lots of pair programming and independent work as well. My skills were valued and they are very open minded to any suggestions you may have (they actually encourage you to do so)

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Your manager is first point of contact. Mine was very supportive, taking care that you enjoy your work and deliver the best. You are also assigned a buddy, someone close to your age that you can share any concerns or questions. I worked closely with my buddy and that was fun! She was also very open with feedback, making sure i succeed in my work.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Depends. I was working in an Agile environment with my team. I guess it depends if it's the beginning of a sprint or the end when you have to do releases :D

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • The responsibility increased with every month of my placement as i got more experience and understanding. They will give you plenty of work to do based on your skills.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • This placement will definitely add impressive value in my future experiences. You learn much more in the year in industry than in university. That's what people say and after an year, i definitely agree. Learned many technologies, patterns and practices that i'm sure will be useful in my last year of uni as i gained much more confidence, as well as in my future jobs!

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere was great! Everyone in my team was easy to get along with. They will invite you for a coffee break or lunch or dinners. Moreover, if you have any technical questions, you can ask anyone around and they will definitely find a way to help you.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very organised. When i joined i had training setup by my team, as well as HR events. Then the tasks adapted to my skills and interest. You will received plenty of feedback which is great!
