The Role
The placement was full of fulfilling work. All the stuff I worked on was transitioned on to a permanent team and was extended by full time staff. This meant I was able to work well with the teams and network with multiple teams, providing a nice overview of the firm.
The colleagues and co-worker I worked with were incredibly talented and were very easy to work with. Everyone I met was nice and able to help me when I needed it. I was also able to get some face time with the leadership of the firm to discuss what goes on across the divisions.
My managers and co-workers were able to help me out in every respect. i was also able to work across teams with people who were not my management or my supervisors. These people were equally nice to work with and supported me in any tasks i had to work on.

While I spent my time sat in rotating teams, I was given the responsibility that was expected of any such team member in that position. There was not too much 鈥渟pecial intern treatment鈥 and all the information that went along with a full role came too.
Essentially, during the placement I went from being an inexperienced software hobbyist to a full system development professional with a rage of skills including technical an non-technical. For example in know about the required work to create a software product and the expected quality controls that go along with that.
The Company
The atmosphere changed during the time I was there as the firm was putting together a new building which meant the old one was being used for testing new layouts and such. This meant there was lots of change and exciting new areas were common day by day.
The placement council was very well organised. There were lots of sections that were streamlined and well-rehearsed. The only improvements were in the change of contacts curing the time that I was there, without of the staff leaving and replacement contract employees being brought in to fill some gaps in placement coverage.
The firm put us through the basic training that they would put any other employee through. We were given the opportunity to learn many different aspects of the systems that they had in place and how the firm has come with their own solutions to a lot of complex problems.

The firm is very positive about hiring internally and, especially after they have had a year to build up the developer experience in the firms accepted systems, this extends to interns looking for full time positions. This means that there is a high chance of an offer when you end.

There were some firm lead external sports clubs and such; however they required work to find in the firm鈥檚 websites. Other than that however, once you鈥檙e in London there鈥檚 a wealth of things to do and see, so I haven鈥檛 included that in the 3 star score I gave.
