About You
I really enjoyed the whole programme. From understanding the firm's culture to learning from great minds, I enjoyed every bit of it.
The culture at Goldman Sachs places greater emphasis on human capital and its development. This was revealed conspicuously during the programme. There is this high sense of individualised consideration that made me feel very valued.
The programme was tailored to give us every support that will make us successful - in the sense of either getting an offer for the summer or knowing enough about the role to decide whether or not this is something you want to do. Apart from that, everybody you network with tends to be very supportive. It has such a great support system.
Just when I got back to the university, what I learnt helped me in my mid semester examination in Financial Markets. It was so practical and yet theoretically relevant to the finance I am reading in the university.
The Company
The structure of the programme was just on point. Whether it was the training or the team presentation. The chronology was just perfect, and there was enough time to network with other employees of the firm.
I expected it to be full of tension and competitive, but it was rather relaxed, friendly and team-focused. You would not feel shy if you do not know anything.
There was massive investment in my personal development. When we did not understand a particular section, the HCM teem did not mind arranging for us to have it again. I had a sense that there was no investment banking interview I could not succeed in after the training.
Over and over again, we had the opportunity to interact with senior leaders and analyst to ask them questions about their roles, and they shared so much with us. If someone claims to work in a particular role, I can pretty much predict what the person does in general.
There is so much excellence, a great sense of connectivity and respect for everybody and their belief systems. And this is evident everywhere. I couldn't have been more exposed to the firm's culture.
The various stories by seniors, associates and analysts gave me a firm idea of what the future holds for me in investment banking. Their unique challenges and approach to life gave me a sense of what to expect in a career in investment banking, and this was an everyday experience. I do not think I could be more certain.
Everything Else
I did not incur any "extra" expenses to deserve reimbursement. However, I was paid adequately.
There was a great opportunity for networking. It was all people business. Learning about people, how they got into their roles, what they do on a daily basis, what challenges they face. And these opportunities come to you every day.
There was several social events. Whether it was networking with employees from your divisions or an affinity network. There were several opportunities to meet people who truly cared.
Personally, I did not do much of that. But I met a few associates and MDs who shared with me what they did after work.
Of course. I believe this is an experience every finance-passionate 西瓜视频 deserves. It will change how you see yourself, your future and your world. It will make you a far better person.
