    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • This BP discovery program was really interesting and engaging. The staffs were really friendly and approaching which make me comfortable and relieved. I enjoyed being able to engage with the university Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵs and the BP staffs from multi-disciplined fields.Although it was tiring day but I feel more relaxed and contented after the event.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • The staffs were friendly and respectful. They were always welcomed us and approached us patiently. They would like to answer to all of the questions prompted by the Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵs. The participants were always helpful and kind and this makes me feel comfortable instead of feeling competitive. I feel valued by the staffs and the participants as a person because they were respectful.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I received full guidance on entry to the building where they conducted the insight programme. They showed us clearly the direction to the rest room and always reminded us of the safety when walking on a staircase. BP provided me the full reimbursement on the transport fee and an overnight accommodation in Aberdeen. After the event, BP contacted a few taxi for us to bring us over to the airport. I feel my attendance was appreciated by the company.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have took away the hints and tips on completing an application form and the good examples on answering to the competency-based questions. I have also developed the adaptability and team work skills when we were asked to carry out engaging activities during the day. I feel being inspired throughout the event and determined to be best version of myself so that I have got so much to offer to the other people. I need to consciously take in every moment of my learnings in order to benefit my career development in the future,

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The program was well structured and proper arranged. The location was easy to find and the access to the building was convenient. The structure was packed with the presentations by the BP graduates or intern which was quite informative and useful. However, some of the graduates may provided us the technical information which we have not yet come across with. Personally, a tour to the refinery is preferable.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was nice and comfortable. I didn't feel stress at all because the atmosphere was not competitive. All the participants were not tension and they feel freely to to ask any questions. Particularly, I like the working environment in BP because they showed respects to each other and they were always kind to offer helps.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Not much training were given but the hints and tips given were always helpful. The company has invested on the Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵs generally everything along the journey to the destination. But I would feel the program was beneficial for my first exposure.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • They organised a small tour to the BP working office and we were provided with a chance to have video chatting with a technician working offshore. On the video chat, we were allowed to ask any questions related to their job roles and this enabled us to gain information on the job roles and maybe helpful for our decision. The program I attended was upstream engineering related.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • First of all, a staff showed of BP organisational structure where one has to attend several training in order to go a step forward to a higher position. Their company culture was that they always showed respect and supportive to each other. They were focus on developing at one things at a time. They were required to work in a team on the projects.

  • Sure! It was useful and meaningful. The information provided was helpful and handy for out current studies. Most importantly, we need not to spend money for attending the event. It worth my time to attend to this program and look forward to involve in the future events by BP.
