About You
I highly enjoyed my time at GS during the Spring Insight scheme. Whilst the time was rather busy and the schedules sometimes quite fragmented, it was a pleasure to get in touch with so bright and inspiring fellow participants as well as great people from the firm, who offered extremely authentic insights.
The Campus Recruiting Team always made sure to inform us about their appreciation of our progress and dedicated work. Also, buddies who had been assigned to the participants as well as ever other employee whom we could set up a meeting with. It was always a very helpfulf, pleasant experience.
The Campus Recruiting Team always made sure we were always were aware of upcoming deadlines and events / be it through personal announcements, encounters on the floors or digital entries, which we could access during our free time. There have been few situations in which additional guidance would have improved my experience at the firm.
The technical training we received during the first one and a half days of the Spring Insight scheme might have been familiar for the 西瓜视频s with a finance, accounting, economics or business background. For other participants this information might have been absolutely new, which meant a steep learning curve and fun.
The Company
The programme was alwazs very tightly structured, even though it was not always as transparent for us as we might have expected upon arrival. A lot of sessions were squeeyed in each day, which sometimes resulted in quite a stressful atmosphere, so that we could not enjoy the programme to the maximum extent. Still, it was very well planned.
The general atmosphere was often very stressful, busy and not all too relaxing. However, this is likely to roughly resemble the atmosphere once you should receive an internship in the summer analyst programme next year and therefore quite helpful in assessing whether one might be a fit for banking and Goldman Sachs in particular.
Of course Goldman Sachs invested a lot of time and human resources in the development, progress and training of each participant. Especially remarkable is the training that we received during the first two days, which enabled us to work on extensive cases studies on our own. I very much appreciate this effort.
Unfortunately, we could hardly get in touch with analysts working on the floors due to time constraints and compliance issues. Nevertheless, informal exchange with people from the firm / especially at a more junior level / helped to develop a sound understanding of the day to day business, This was helpful.
After the spring insight programme, I now believe to have gained a very good understanding of the GS culture thanks to the exchange with various people working at the firm. While their observations might at times be contradicting, I believe discrepancies to be caused by different team atmospheres depending on the divisions. GS certainly has a distinctly different culture compared to its major competitors. GS is particularly hard working and keen to succeed at all times.
The entire programme has shown me that Investment Banking remains to be a very viable option for me and I am even more keen to get more practical insights in future placements at Goldman Sachs or its competitors, while I would prefer to collect experiences at Goldman Sachs in London.
Everything Else
There were plenty of networking opportunities to meet with other people. It was a great plesaure to connect with people from very different hierarchical levels in order to develop a sound understanding of how the firm is working and how its culture seems to be like. I have very much enjoyed the programme and constinue to think about it.

Yes, personal conversations were very helpful in doing so.
I would recommend the scheme to everyone I know, since I believe it is an amazing opportunity.
