About You
- I had a fantastic experience during my spring week - I felt that I was exposed to a wide variety of employees and functions of the firm, and felt like a real intern, though I was only at the firm for two weeks - I was able to come away from the internship recognizing that I have a strong interest in the field of financial services, and feel like I was continuously learning and growing throughout the week
- Originally, I thought I would be a bother, but I was pleasantly surprised to see full-time employees be extremely receptive towards myself and fellow interns and willing to spend time with me at nearly anytime - I felt like the firm was invested in my development throughout the entire process, providing me with the resources and motivation to reach beyond my limits and get the most out of the experience
- I received support from employees of all levels during the insight and felt like I could turn to administrative figures with any questions or concerns I had - I never felt unable to ask questions for fear of being ignored/looked down upon
- I feel like I am coming away with a much better understanding of how GS and the financial services industry as a whole operate - I better understand the functions of capital allocation and risk management and will continue to utilize this knowledge as I continue my education and begin my career
The Company
- The program was meticulously structured to allow for high frequency of interactions between interns and employees, and place interns in a variety of different environments through which we could be assessed - This allowed us to get a variety of exposure to members of the firm and be able to showcase our different talents in different ways, while also taking initiative ourselves
- The atmosphere was fantastic; all of my fellow interns were extremely friendly and supportive at all times - While the atmosphere was undoubtedly competitive, I felt that the staff and interns never compromised their kindness or integrity and were always contributing to a positive environment in the office
- I felt like the firm was invested in my development throughout the entire process of the internship - The resources and support afforded to me made me feel like a true member of the firm for the duration of my spring week - I was pleasantly surprised at the firm's willingness to accommodate me
- I got a great insight into how the company operates, what the people are like to work with and whether I could see myself working at Goldman Sachs - Speaking with a variety of employees helped me to develop a holistic view of the firm - I feel that I now have a better understanding of the qualities GS looks for in its employees
Everything Else
- I had the ability to meet with several members of the firm throughout my stay and was thrilled with the amount of interaction I was afforded - Meeting with people from different desks, divisions and levels of seniority helped provide a holistic view of the firm as a whole - I was able to get a feel for the types of tasks I thought I would enjoy and the types that weren't for me
