About You
This insight program was amazing. It was a well developed program with interactive presentation, skills exercise and work shadowing. BP carefully introduced every single function which might be a possible career pathway for us. This really helped us to understand which is the best for future career. There was a small group of Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵs (round 10), which gave us good visibility and a chance to make an impression, it also made the whole week much much more efficient.
I felt absolutely valued during this week. Everyone here took us seriously as an employee. When we were work shadowing people. They patiently and nicely explained the work to us. We had a lot of opportunities to ask questions as well, which is really great. The culture there is really friendly. After this week, i learned so many things.
We had one trading and one negotiation exercises, which are correspondent to their commercial and trading graduate scheme. These gave us a flavour of how the work out there is like. We also had interview skills training and Q&A sessions at the end of the program, which largely help us with future applications.
The Company
I would say the insight programme was very well structured. We had full schedule every day and each session was played an important role for better understanding the work and company. At the end of program, we all had a very good understanding of the opportunity and work. This put us ahead to other Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵs who didn't attend this programme. Everything was organised and we enjoyed the time very much.
The atmosphere was really really really friendly. People there treat us really well. That was because they had the same experience when they joined this firm. People were friendly and nice to them; Bp was caring to them, so now they are paying back to us. I had a lot of experience with investment banks during my past experience. I would say the atmosphere here was amazing.
I had the chance to hear the presentation from someone very very senior. We also had chance to spend relatively long time with other buddies. Therefore, I would say BP has made its effort to invest in us and give us personal training and development. We also had payment for this week.
After this week we had a very good understanding to what it would be like to have a full time tole here. They introduced differently functions to us. And we had the chance to do some scenarios/exercises to see if we can work smoothly for the job. Ans we also have the opportunities to talk to current grads. They share try insightful experience to help us understating the roles.
By spending the time here we can experience the culture every single seconds. Not by listening to us and how they describe the company culture. Company culture is something really needs your time. Luckily, we had the opportunity to gain that, by either making conversation there or working some work. Overall, it was really helpful in this case.
Very very very. This programme has taught me so much. I was too closed to my future career opportunities and thought that i wouldn't be happy by doing any job apart from trading. After this program i actually realised that the trading job isn't necessary for me. There are many other things i am interested and enjoying as a career.
Everything Else
there was only a final lunch. I would suggest to add more opportunities for us to network.
