The Role
I enjoyed my internship at Goldman Sachs a lot. It was very challenging and it demanded the best version of me but I was prepared and motivated to show all I have got. The staff, my fellow 西瓜视频s and the atmosphere was great. I met so many like-minded and inspiring individuals.
Without exception every team member at Goldman Sachs was very friendly and helpful and always tried to make some time to have a quick chat with us summer analyst. I have not only learned a lot from their stories but also gained many new insights and tricks from the colleagues on how to handle certain situations.
The managers always encouraged us to ask questions whenever in doubt which was to be frank quite often. This helped me during a lot during my time as a summer analyst and strengthened my confidence. Thus, the guidance was great and this was important as the finance industry was something new to me.
Investment banker are known to have very long and tight schedules. Especially at one of the largest banks such as Goldman Sachs this image has been confirmed. I was always kept occupied with meaningful work throughout the day. As soon as I have completed on of the challenging tasks, I would be promptly given more work to do.
I was given work which had a direct bearing on the collective work done by my team. Goldman Sachs wants to assess how you would fare as a fully time employee. Therefore, all my work was significant and I had a lot of autonomy. In case of any discrepancies in data, I was tasked with finding explanations for these discrepancies.
In my opinion, I have developed many skills which will be beneficial for my planned career as an investment banker. As a result of this, the various skills that I have gained over the course of my summer internship can support me in my career and smoothen my entry into the finance industry.
The Company
The atmosphere was professional throughout the internship. Everyone was focussed and motivated to reach their highest potential. Not the best vibes but this is not important at a bank where all that matters are results. However, people were always happy to talk to each other about their work and other affairs.
This ten-week summer internship with Goldman Sachs was very well organised. We were assigned to teams and had daily desk duties. Aside from that, we were assigned mentors who were tasked to tell us more about the operations at Goldman Sachs. This helped me to learn more about cross function responsibilities.
I think the company did the most it could to invest in me during my stay with Goldman Sachs. Everyone was offering me guidance and were always willing to have a quick chat and answer my questions. Furthermore, everything was provided. Like external trainers are hired to teach you hard and soft skills in intensive training sessions.
I am of the opinion that Goldman Sachs offers a very appealing employment prospect. This is because the company is doing well and winning tenders. It attracts bright and motivated people from all over the world. As it is looking to expand some of its offices, there will be many new opportunities for future applicants.
