The Role
I am so glad that I did this internship and I definitely learnt a lot and made good friends and contacts (both interns and full time employees), but I feel that a lot of the internship was down to being at the right place at the right time.
I tried not to take things personally and I recognize that every body is extremely busy but I feel that sometimes I would do some work or even some extra work and in some cases not get any sort of response or feedback
I was given so much support both by HCM and some people I got to know throughout the summer and I really appreciate it.
I was so busy all the time which is great because it meant that A) I learnt a lot and B) I wasn't clock-watching at all and really making the most of my time
I wasn't given that much responsibility but I had the opportunity to shadow and present projects
My degree is not relevant to finance at all, but I think I developed a lot of useful transferable skills
The Company
Very lively and active, although perhaps quite stressful at times
It was well organised but I feel that sometimes the weekly places meant that we were unable to focus on one project
I feel like most people (who tend to be very busy) were very keen to help and to see me develop professionally and intellectually
Subsidised Canteen
Very appealing- I would love to work at a place like this
The Culture
The interns were so friendly and we always organised seeing each other at weekends
Quite expensive, but very fun and worth it!
N/a
There were a few drinks receptions but apart from that not that I am aware of
