The Role
Extremely welcoming team, state-of-the-art technology, beautiful location, very good learning experience.
Went out for a curry and drinks night with team towards end of time. Looked forward to coming into work everyday. I was very lucky with my manager and team, others maybe not as much
Cannot praise my manager more for his support and guidance. Was the perfect balance between letting me get on with stuff and making sure I knew how to do everything and what the final objective was.
Very busy, especially during the middle of the internship. Nothing was particularly difficult, just a lot of stuff to do. Completed everything in time, so last week have not had much to do.
In my intern team I was the business lead role. That meant a lot of responsibility and accountability. Within my actual job role, there wasn't that much room for my input on changing anything, however the project I was given gave me room to drastically improve processes and had a very satisfying end product.
In terms of degree, probably not that much, as physics is very particular and working in a bank would not really impact my studies. However beyond a degree, I don't think you will get many better placements in the world.
The Company
Very new, pleasant, great technology, got on well with my team, but you are here to work.
Very well in parts.
They pay you extremely well. They always refer to you as junior talent, whenever you have talks. They give you basically the same responsibility that a graduate would have but for ten weeks.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Financial Bonus
Working from home
Healthcare/Dental
Have not heard back as the internship has not finished, however am quietly confident.
The Culture
Yes, going out most weekends, reminded me of first year of uni.
Bournemouth is very cheap considering how much you get paid.
Okay in parts, beach is lovely in good weather, however most cities don't have that good nightlife over the summer, as universities are not running.
Yes various sports teams football, rounders etc. Unfortunately got injured so couldn't play that much.
