The Role
The Internship was a great way to get a feel for how investment banking is to work in Despite everyone being busy, the majority of the time colleagues found the time to help with my work and answering questions, and in general there was a good working atmosphere around the office.
I was given real responsibility in both my rotations, along with a particularly interesting project. This, along with the time sacrificed by my colleagues to help me made me feel valued.
In general I was given as much support as I required. Occasionally when its a particularly busy day you may have to wait, but this is expected. Overall support was very good
Very busy. Always something to do and if your daily tasks/project is done, there is a library of information to learn about a wide range of investment banking subjects
Felt like a member of the team with the amount of responsibility given to me. Starting a real project that would be taken further when I leave along with the daily tasks that need to be done showed the level of responsibility I was given
Learned a range of analytical methods and had 1 week training learning about general investment banking, which will both help me in future life and in my final year of uni
The Company
1 week general training at the beginning gave a great intro into investment banking. After that there were still numerous structured training sessions (Bloomberg training) as well as the huge amounts you learn on the desk. Overall the firm invests a massive amount in your personal development.

If successful in the internship you are offered a grad role, which is a two year program, for when you finish university
The Culture
London, its expensive. Be prepared to pay a small fortune on rent and socialising. It may be expensive, but there is never a day when there is nothing going on in London
London has a many bars and clubs as you can dream of, with numerous areas outside the centre which are very lively (Shoreditch, Clapham etc). A pain to travel around after 12, but with the night tube coming in this should be less of a problem in the future.
Joined the weekly 5 a side football league with some other members of my team and some other interns, was a great way to get to know more people and also get some exercise!
