The Role
Steep learning curve - this is really a great opportunity to learn and develop your knowledge of the financial industry. The internship is very well organized with many events and presentations. As an intern you really get to contribute to your team and understand the impact your work will have on a wider scale.
The corporate culture is great in the company. Everyone I met were keen to spend some time with me to explain more about their role. Having been given responsibility from an early stage, I was able to showcase my ideas to my colleagues. They showed interest in my ideas and suggestions. I was also involved in presentations for different teams and this also allowed me to learn from others. Overall I felt that my colleague did value my work and ideas.
Management supported and guided me through tasks - whilst still leaving room for personal input and ideas.
Some days there was less work to do, other days we were very busy.
I was given a significant amount of responsibility from an early stage in the internship. This goes further to show the values and taught me to be accountable for all my work as I was responsible of the quality and work I sent out to external stakeholders as well as other teams.
I gained a better understanding of the industry - the internship is a great opportunity to find out more about other roles, especially when you are not 100% sure. The networking with senior management and understanding of different lines of business will definitely help in pursuing my career objectives. All the training was useful and quite advanced, and this will definitely be useful in pursuing my masters degree.
The Company
Very friendly. Although teams did not necessarily cooperate at all times, especially when they were under pressure. There were some fun moments.
Excellent organization.
I was given the opportunity to learn from other teams and the training central is great to familiarize oneself with other products or services within the investment bank.
