About You
The insight was a really great opportunity for me to meet with current employees, and to ask many questions. A particular highlight was the interview skills session, in which I was given valuable tips on how to succeed in various types of interview situations. Overall, I really enjoyed the insight, and would definitely recommend it to anyone, regardless of how much they think they know about BP and the energy industry!
I felt very valued throughout my time at BP. I was given a tour of two trading floors, and was provided with afternoon tea as well as an array of refreshments throughout the day. The employees listened to all the questions and concerns that I had, and they made sure to address them as completely and as fully as they could.
The support and guidance from BP was fabulous. It was an insight event that was specifically directed towards women, and so I was introduced to many young female employees, who were a few years older than myself. These women were really inspirational to me, and I could see myself in their shoes in perhaps a few short years time.
The insight day made me even more determined to do well in my degree studies, so that I am able to pursue the internship and graduate placements that I desire. I became more confident in my ability to answer competency and technical questions, and the dedicated skills session was very useful for me in particular.
The Company
The insight was very well structured and was conducted with a great level of professionalism. At the beginning of the insight, we were given a detailed timetable of events, and everything ran accordingly and smoothly. I think each of the events was conducted really well, and none of the events felt overly drawn out or rushed.
The general atmosphere was one of support and positivity. I was really pleased to be at the insight, and it was clear that everyone at BP was more than happy for me to learn as much as possible during my time there. I was encouraged to see that the working life at BP maintains a certain level of professionalism without a suffocating feeling.
The personal training and development from BP was superb. A highlight of the insight was the tailored interview tips sessions, which was conducted by two HR specialists, and so the information that they imparted was really useful. I was also given the opportunity to put the skills that I had learned into practice, which was a really great for me.
The insight gave me a really detailed and full picture of what it would be like to work at BP. I was able to meet and speak to various people who have just joined BP full time, whilst also being exposed to employees who have been working there for many years. I was also given a tour of the trading floor, and this opportunity gave me a great idea of what it would be like to have a full time role with BP.
Everything Else
Yes, we spent a lot of time networking and meeting BP employees. These sessions were really useful because I was given an adequate amount of time to ask all of my questions, and to have in-depth, detailed conversations with the employees. I was able to meet many people, and I couldn't have asked for any more from BP!
I would definitely recommend this insight to any friend who is interested in learning more about what BP does, and how they may fit in to the company and its culture. It was an eye opening experience that I think is more valuable than perhaps speaking to BP employees outside of the office. The opportunity to speak to employees within their working environment was really great.
