The Role
Fantastic insight into the industry of pharmaceutical analysis. Given complete responsibilities equal to other employees. Gives fantastic experimental and communication skills.
Treated like a member of a team rather than just a spare part, you get complete training and then once this is complete you are integrated with other employees and your responsibilities and job expectations are similar.
Fantastic training programme and continued support from my manager in the form of 1:1 meetings every month, as well as an open and honest mentality.
Very busy on a daily basis, a working day was never dull. Most of the time is spent in the lab carrying out analysis with a small amount spent attending to quality actions and communicating to clients.
After completing training and showing competency you are given full responsibility and trust akin to any other employee. You are also given particular equipment which you are responsible for the maintainance of.
The experimental and analytical skill will enable me to work efficiently and correctly in any laboratory I work in.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office and laboratory was generally good, there is a good balance of work/ social events. After work events for birthdays and nights out are common
The internship was very well organised by the placement coordinator. Introductory presentations and tours are organised to help get to grips with the place you are working and everything ran smoothly throughout my placement.
I was given training in some additional experimental techniques which I showed an interest in for example HPLC. The company are keen to invest in personal development when an interest is expressed.
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
The prospect of working in this organisation in the future is very appealing as personal development is something which is heavily focused upon.
The Culture
A lot of the placement 西瓜视频s live together in shared accomodation so it creates a good atmosphere socially as wellas experiencing working life together.
Monthly rent is approximately 拢400-450 a month and socialising isnt to expensive with the salary that is offered by the company.
The nightlife in Reading is good, there are a few good clubs and plenty of pubs and bars. Social events are often organised by the company social committee. This makes for a good balance between work and social life.
Volunteering is encouraged by the company and it is expected you should complete at least 1 day of paid volunteering in your placement year. The oppertunities for this are vast. There is a community committee that organises many volunteering events. This includes anything from building maintainance/ gardening to helping with animals.
