    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was a very positive experience working for Mondelez at the Banbury site. You are surrounded by people who are passionate to learn and share their knowledge. There are also plenty of opportunities to do things outside of work too.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was a specialist in a specific field in my team. I felt like I had a lot of input into group meetings and that I have left the company knowing that I have made a difference.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • When you begin the placement, you are assigned a manager, supervisor and a mentor. Therefore there are 3 different people who can provide support and guidance on all aspects of your job there.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • This varied depending on project progress. At times, I needed support from others and at other times I was providing the support to the rest of my team. It highly depends on how you manage your own time.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was responsible for 4 products which all had a business impact depending on the conclusions drawn from them. I was responsible for myself and managing my own projects and time.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • There are plenty of training workshops that you can get involved in. I feel that coming into my final year of university, I am ready to complete my degree using the practical skills I have developed from the placement. You also learn a lot of communication skills from working in a diverse environment.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Open plan office means that you'll have at least two neighbours. It's very easy to approach people if you have a question, or if you need a friend to have coffee with. It's a relaxed and comfortable community.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I was lucky to have an organised team and manager who supported my projects. However, your skills from your assessments will determine which team you will work for. So, it depends on luck. I knew other 西瓜视频s who felt that their placement was not as fulfilling due to the lack of organisation form their teams.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Workshops and development programmes are available for you if you want them. You have to be active in achieving them. I attending many different kinds of programmes which have been beneficial for myself.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Sports and Social Club

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The company is currently going through a lot of change, The coffee sector which I worked for is now a completely new company therefore the future is still unknown to many.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement 西瓜视频s/colleagues?
  • I was actively involved with the 西瓜视频 charity committee. This was something we all did in our free time fundraising events and raising awareness within the office. This meant there were plenty of opportunities to bake cakes, sell them and eat them! There were also many socials outside of work with the younger crowd. Not only pub quiz nights, but also frisbees and badminton sessions,

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Banbury is a relatively cheap area to live in (especially as a 西瓜视频). But be prepared to invest at the start since most houses are unfurnished. Because of the yearly scheme Banbury has, you are most likely to live in a previous 西瓜视频s house and use their furniture.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Reasonable social. The neighbouring towns (Leamington and Oxford) also offer an alternative setting for a night out.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Charity is a massive thing within the company, so there were plenty of opportunities to volunteer for a variety of events.

    3/5
