About You
A very insightful placement. BP had put a lot of thought and effort into this and it was thourghly enjoyable. The discovery day provided an overview of the companies office, key jobs and also the application process for the graduate schemes.
Even though the experience was just one day they treated you like you were going to be staying with them for weeks making an effort to get to know everybody.
a lot! Guidance into applications for jobs and future opportunities within the company was provided in great detail.
It will make applications for jobs and interviews easier
The Company
Seamless - the group was split up into two well sized groups and each of these followed a path for the day ensuring everything was done and finished within the allocated time.
Everyone was enthusiastic and happy to be there. The staff showed the same attitude.
The company generated interest from the Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵs by showing them the new technology and most exciting sections of the offices.
It showed you as well as one day can within the BP offices.
BP's values were mentioned but not focused on during the day.
again as valuable as one day can be. I would not decide my future career on a single days experience
Everything Else
Lunch was free also - if you lived far away hotel accommodation could be paid for. There was a free shuttle bus service from the local train station. Transportation was easy.
A networking lunch was provided - Members of the company also did talks early on in the day and stayed around after to allow you to talk to them during the 15 minute breaks that we were given.
Lunch was too short and not enough time to talk to more than one person.
No - this was not mentioned
Yes - Being from a london university it was easy to get to and well worth the travel especially as it was reimbursed. For one day they could not have packed anything else into it to make it more worth while.
