Register Your Interest - Software Engineer Internship
Redgate makes software to help companies and professionals get the most out of their databases. Our products are designed to work for everyone – from the smallest, single developer houses to Fortune 500 companies. We succeed by reliably solving our customers’ problems with ingeniously simple software.
We’re looking for talented Software Engineers to join one of our product teams. If you’re passionate about learning to write great code, love working in a team, and want to shape the software you build, we want to hear from you. Here at Redgate everyone has a part to play in our creative, innovative company.
At Redgate, we believe that the best software comes from engaging small teams with clear purpose, freedom to act, and a drive to learn.
Aspiring Software Engineers - Join our paid Summer Software Engineer Internship Programme!
We’re seeking aspiring Software Engineers to join us for 10 weeks in over the Summer and gain valuable experience to support your studies and future career.
Redgate aspires to be the best place you’ll ever work, let alone intern. We strongly believe being an intern isn’t about watching people working, it’s about doing real work from day one, on things that make a real difference.
As a fully-fledged member of one of our development teams, you will work on real features and get the opportunity to see it all through to the very end, so you know you’ve made a real difference. As a result, you’ll experience how our development teams go about creating software, including the design, implementation, and testing of features.
Interns work in small, autonomous teams with software engineers, product designers, and a technical lead to create elegant commercial software; teamwork is very important to us. You will have a dedicated mentor to help you through your internship, answer any questions, and make sure you have a great time.
What we’ll offer you:
- A chance to work with an experienced agile development team.
- We’ll help you bridge the gap between coding simple functions to engineering software that ships to thousands of customers.
- We’ll help develop you into a software expert, shaping requirements and estimates, writing great code and shipping features.
- We’ll cultivate your technical knowledge with design patterns, test-driven development, peer-review, and more.
- Get involved with team activities which might include releasing product updates, customer research, or running retrospectives
- 10 weeks’ pay, a relaxed & professional environment, personal development, hybrid work model (mix of home & Cambridge office working) & social activities
What makes you Redgate’s next Software Intern?
- You have a genuine passion for software.
- You expect to graduate in 2027 with a university degree in a relevant discipline.
- You have a profound understanding of the value of teamwork.
- Your grades haven’t been affected by your extra-curricular exploits with your favourite coding languages.
Whilst we typically use C#, Java and React at Redgate, please apply even if you use other languages and would be happy working with our tech stack.
Here's what some of our interns have shared:
“I thought that the internship was very helpful to me as a Software Engineer. All of the people I met were very helpful and welcoming which made me feel much better about the jump from uni to the world of work. Redgate has a great culture and made me look forward to coming in each day.” Bradley McGill, past Software Intern
“I didn't feel like an intern, I really felt like part of the team.” Kris Sananpanichkul, past Software Intern
